Vol. 379 No. 9

Written Answers. - Dublin Community College.

136.

asked the Minister for Education if she will meet with the four Dáil Deputies for Dublin South West, together with the Board of Management of Jobstown Community College, Dublin 24, and the Parents' Association in order to discuss the future of the school; and if she will arrange such a meeting before the end of April 1988.

The present position with regard to Jobstown Community College is that I have already indicated that the building of a new building for the college will not now be going ahead. Jobstown Community College is at present housed in Brookfield community school. Officials of my Department are engaged in discussion with the boards of management of the two schools in relation to the future of the Jobstown college.

In the light of these discussions and of other investigations being carried out by my Department, I am satisfied that no useful purpose would be served by meeting, at this time, with the parties referred to by the Deputy.
