I have informed agencies that in processing applications which have been received from staff for early retirement-voluntary redundancy regard must be had to the impact on services. My objective is to ensure that essential services will not be adversely affected by the early retirement-voluntary redundancy scheme. For this reason each application must be considered on its merits by local management.
