In the post-primary sector it has not been possible to date to finalise teacher staffing allocations for the 1988/89 school year pending the outcome of the Central Review Committee's examination of the implications of the decision to increase the pupil-teacher ratio. I am hopeful that it will be possible to issue teacher allocations for the post-primary and the primary sectors shortly.
