Vol. 382 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

75.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange for payment of a farm grant due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

In order to qualify for grant aid under the Department's investment aid schemes, projects have to comply with official specifications.

The person in question received approval under the farm improvement programme in July 1986 for a slatted house and underfloor slurry tank. A progress inspection in February 1987 revealed that the slurry tank had not been constructed to specification. In the circumstances, the works cannot be certified for payment.

If the person in question contacts his local farm development service office, arrangements will be made to advise him of the remedial measures necessary to bring the structures up to specification.
