Vol. 382 No. 9

Written Answers. - Minimum Notice Award Payment.

158.

asked the Minister for Labour when payment of a minimum notice award will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Louth, the company being in liquidation and the liquidator having not responded to the request for payment from this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

When an employer company goes into liquidation, the procedure for securing payment of employees' outstanding entitlements from the redundancy and employers' insolvency fund is that the liquidator must submit an application to my Department for funds to pay the employees the amounts owed to them.

To date, no application has been received from the liquidator for payment of the minimum notice award made to the person concerned. However, my Department have been in contact with the liquidator who has indicated that he will forward the appropriate application form within the next few days. When the application is received in my Department, it will be processed without delay.
