Vol. 382 No. 10

Written Answers. - Public Service Redundancy Scheme.

118.

asked the Minister for Health the total number of (a) redundancies (b) early retirements sanctioned so far under the Government's redundancy and early retirement scheme for his Department by number and category.

It is a matter for health agencies to apply the early retirement/voluntary redundancy scheme to their staffs in accordance with certain conditions laid down by my Department. Under these conditions applications can be approved only if such approval would not result in adverse effects on essential services.

I have received certification from agencies that the numbers and grades as set out on the following schedule have, to date, been granted the terms of the early retirement/voluntary redundancy scheme in 1988.
