(a) The total amount of incremental salary paid to teachers is not accounted for by reference to fee-charging schools and other schools and it would involve an inordinate amount of official time to compile the information requested; (b) Building grants, under the scheme of Building Grants to Secondary Schools, issued to fee-charging secondary schools in 1987, and 1988 (to date) are as follows: 1987, £1,960,843; 1988 (Jan/Sept), £682,108; (c) Capitation and other grants were withdrawn from fee-charging secondary schools with effect from 1 August 1986.
