asked the Minister for Justice if he will make a statement regarding ratification of the Convention of the Transfer of Sentenced Persons; and the steps, if any, he is taking to make ratification of this Convention possible.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 111 and 112 together.
The practical and legislative measures which may be necessary to enable the ratification to proceed are still under consideration in my Department. The issues involved are complex and I am not in a position to indicate when this country might be in a position to ratify the convention.
