Vol. 383 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rod Licences.

14.

asked the Minister for the Marine the total revenue to date from rod licences.

21.

asked the Minister for the Marine the number of licences purchased in respect of trout and coarse fish since the introduction of the recent legislation on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

22.

asked the Minister for the Marine the number of all-season brown trout rod licences purchased throughout the country for the 1988 season; the number of all-season coarse angling rod licences purchased in the 1988 season; the number of all-season brown trout rod licences purchased in each of the fishery board regions for the 1988 season; and the number of composite licences purchased in the country for the 1988 season.

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 14, 21 and 22 together.

Regional boards have been asked to make returns to my Department by the end of October on the number of licences sold up to the end of September. As soon as this information is available I will pass it on to the Deputies. Coarse fishing will, of course, continue over the remainder of the year so final returns in respect of the year as a whole will not be available until 1989.
