Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - St. Luke's Hospital Accommodation.

220.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the acute bed shortage in St. Luke's Hospital, Dublin 6; and the steps he intends taking to improve conditions in that hospital.

I am aware that St. Luke's Hospital has been experiencing difficulties in maintaining its present levels of services. Negotiations on the amalgamation of St. Luke's and St. Anne's Hospitals are at an advanced stage. Following amalgamation it will be possible to improve the overall service through the rationalisation of facilities in both buildings. The amalgamation has my full support.
