Limerick West): The procedure for the award of the Good Conduct Medal is prescribed in Defence Force Regulations, which provide that not more than 60 medals shall be awarded annually. The non-commissioned officer referred to by the Deputy has not been selected for the award of a medal this year, which is the inaugural year of the medal. This does not, of course, imply that his service has not been satisfactory.
