asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will contact the Northern Ireland Office to ask that the British Army personnel manning the check-point at Aughnacloy, County Tyrone, would desist from forcing the sale of poppies to motorists and others passing through this check-point.

This matter was raised through the Anglo-Irish Secretariat. I have been informed that British soldiers at Aughnacloy had poppies available for sale at the check-point to those wishing to buy them, but that on no occasion was the sale of poppies forced on motorists or others passing through the check-point.
