asked the Minister for Education if she has made a decision in respect of the application for funding from the proceeds of the national lottery for the provision of a sports complex at Naas, County Kildare having regard to her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 93 of 20 October 1988; if she will outline the changes, if any, that have taken place since 20 October 1988; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I can now confirm that Naas has been designated as a location for the provision of a local sports centre, the precise site for which will be determined by my Department in consultation with the local sponsoring groups. As the project is at an early planning stage it would not be possible at this stage to say when work will commence.
