The Forest Service of my Department, in association with the Department of Industry and Commerce and the State industrial development agencies, are actively examining the possibilities for the development of the Irish pulpwood industry, through the expansion of existing industries and/or the establishment of new operations.
As no specific proposals have yet been submitted it is not possible to provide any further information at this stage.
