The Minister for Energy is the only member of the Government serving on a local authority or health board — Tipperary (North Riding) County Council and the MidWestern Health Board. I understand that he will be tendering his resignation from both bodies early next year.
The Minister of State at the Department of Energy, Deputy Liam Aylward, is a member of Kilkenny County Council and the South-Eastern Health Board. The position in relation to other Ministers of State is as I outlined to the House last February.
