asked the Minister for Education the moneys from the national lottery which have been allocated for projects in the Dublin South constituency; if she will name each such project in respect of which moneys were allocated; and the amount in each case.
Written Answers. - Dublin South Constituency Projects.
Under my Department's scheme of assistance to youth annual grants are paid to national or large regional voluntary youth organisations. It is not possible, therefore, to furnish information along the lines sought by the Deputy in respect of such grants.
A special fund totalling £4 million was created in 1988 for the development of youth services to disadvantaged young people. Grants from this fund were allocated to support local and national initiatives through national youth organisations, vocational education committees or other approved agencies. A sum of £2,034,300 was allocated from this fund is in respect of projects in the Dublin city and county area. A list of the individual grantees is appended.

The provision of the type of information requested by the Deputy in respect of my Department's capital grants scheme would involve an inordinate amount of time and I am not prepared to divert staff for this purpose.
Should the Deputy wish to inquire about a particular project, I will endeavour to supply the information sought.
