Vol. 387 No. 7

Written Answers. - Water Charges.

141.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the doubt about the legal validity of water charges in a number of local authority areas arising from a recent High Court decision, he will request all local authorities to stop disconnecting water supplies to householders until the legal status of all such charges has been clarified; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The exercise of their statutory powers relating to water charges is entirely a matter for each local authority.
