Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - State Bodies Annual Reports.

142.

asked the Minister for Labour, in respect of each semi-State or other body submitting an annual report to his Department, the dates on which their 1987 annual report and accounts were (a) received by him (b) laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and (c) circulated to Members.

The position as regards bodies under the aegis of my Department is as follows:

Great Southern Hotels

Annual report and accounts received by me on 3 March 1988. Laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and circulated to Members on 11 May 1988.

CERT Ltd.

Annual report and accounts received by me on 26 April 1988. Laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and circulated to Members on 17 May 1988.

Employment Appeals Tribunal

Annual report received by me on 27 April 1988. Laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and circulated to Members on 13 September 1988.

Labour Court

Annual report received by me on 13 February 1988. Laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and circulated to Members on 27 July 1988.

Employment Equality Agency

Annual report received by me on 31 August 1988 and laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas on 10 October 1988. The report was not circulated to Members — copies are however, available from the Employment Equality Agency. It is expected that the agency's certified accounts for 1987 should be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas by the end of April 1989.

Neither AnCO nor the Youth Employment Agency have as yet submitted annual reports and accounts for 1987. Both these bodies are now part of FÁS. In the case of the YEA the delay is due to the fact that the liquidator is still winding up the agency's affairs. Until this process is finalised audited accounts will not be available. As regards AnCO, the delay is due to the fact that the accounts for 1987 have not been finally audited. Both the Labour Court and the Employment Appeals Tribunal are funded out of the Department of Labour Vote. Annual accounts are therefore not required.
