I assume the Deputy is referring to local authority dwellings. The responsibility for the management and maintenance of such dwellings lies with the council. Last December, I approved their proposal to fund from internal housing capital receipts a programme for the provision of bathrooms to rural cottages which lack this facility. In addition, I have provided £245,000 to date to Tralee UDC under the remedial works scheme for the major refurbishment of pre-1940 houses at Mitchell's Crescent.
