It is my policy that primary responsibility for the provision of trained workers rests with industry itself. FÁS provide training opportunities for a limited number of persons to acquire specific skills such as heavy goods vehicle driving which are likely to be in short supply to assist them obtain suitable employment. The arrangements for such training are day to day matters for FÁS and I would suggest that the Deputy contact FÁS direct in the matter.
