A programme of computerisation of the Land Registry folio database commenced in 1982 with a pilot project in the Dublin Region. This project was completed in June 1986 and all of the folios for the County Dublin area are now computerised.
In 1987 work commenced on the computerisation of the folio database in the Western Region, which comprises Counties Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon and Clare.
Computerisation will be extended into other regions as and when staff and resources become available.
