The only area of the public service for which my Department have direct responsibility is the non-industrial Civil Service.
My Department collect and record data on numbers serving but, as current policy precludes the filling of vacancies other than in certain exceptional situations, statistics on vacancies are not kept and the information sought by the Deputy is not available.
There are approximately 200 non-industrial civil servants currently serving in County Wexford.
