asked the Minister for Education if she has reviewed the post-primary accommodation in Shannon, County Clare where St. Patrick's Comprehensive School and St. Caimin's Community School have a maximum capacity potential of 900 and 500 respectively, now that the numbers likely to attend in September 1989 will be 830 and 640 respectively; and if she will make a statement regarding the new facilities proposed for St. Caimin's Community School which will lead to wasteful duplication and spare capacity at St. Patrick's Comprehensive School.

The post primary accommodation requirements of the Shannon area have been the subject of regular reviews in my Department. I am satisfied that the existing overall provision is sufficient to meet the demands of the catchment area. The question of providing additional new facilities does not arise.
