Pursuant to an advice tendered to me by the Taoiseach under section 2 of Article 13 of the Constitution, I, PATRICK J. HILLERY, President of Ireland, hereby dissolve Dáil Éireann on Thursday, the 25th day of May, 1989, and summon and call together Dáil Éireann (the members whereof shall have been elected at the forthcoming General Election) to meet in the city of Dublin on Thursday, the 29th day of June, 1989, at the hour of 3 o'clock in the afternoon for the despatch of such business as shall be submitted to it.GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND SEAL THIS 25th DAY OF MAY, 1989. |

In compliance with Standing Order No. 3 of the Standing Orders of Dáil Éireann relative to Public Business, I have to report that immediately upon the issue by the President of the Proclamation of the 25th day of May, 1989, dissolving Dáil Éireann on that day, the Clerk of the Dáil issued his writs, pursuant to section 12 of the Electoral Act, 1963, for the following Constituencies to the Returning Officers named hereunder:— |

Maidir leis an Eascaire toghcháin chun corrfholúntas a líonadh i gcomhaltas an 25ú Dáil do dháilcheantar Shligigh-Liatroim a d'eisigh Cléireach na Dála go cuí an 16ú lá de Bhealtaine, 1989, chuir an Ceann Comhairimh ar ais chuige í an 26ú lá de Bhealtaine, 1989, agus deimhniú formhuinithe uirthi á rá nach raibh aon fhreagra á thabhairt aige ar an Eascaire mar gheall ar an Dáil a bheith lánscortha agus dá réir sin nach raibh aon fholúntas le líonadh faoi bhrí na hEa-scaire. Tá cóipeanna den Eascaire agus an deimhniú formhuinithe uirthi curtha faoi bhráid na Dála. |
The Writ for an election to fill a casual vacancy in the membership of the 25th Dáil for the constituency of Sligo-Leitrim, duly issued by the Clerk of the Dáil on 16th May, 1989 was returned to him by the Returning Officer on 26th May, 1989, with a certificate endorsed thereon stating that he was making no return to the Writ as the Dáil had been dissolved and accordingly there was then no vacancy to be filled in obedience to the Writ. Copies of the Writ with the certificate endorsed thereon have been laid before the Dáil. |
