(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who is a teacher has been unfairly treated; if she will examine the situation to rectify it; and if she will give the person concerned full panel rights.

The teacher referred to by the Deputy wrote to me recently and the case was examined by my Department. In accordance with the Rules for National Schools this teacher was employed in a temporary capacity and on the termination of her period of recognition was not eligible to be placed on the Diocesan or other approved panels.
