The chairman and ordinary members of Teagasc were appointed with effect from 8 September 1988, in accordance with the provisions of the First Schedule to the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Act, 1988. On that basis the chairman and four ordinary members were appointed for five years, three ordinary members were appointed for three years and a further three for four years.
