Algal Bloom which gives rise to the greening of the River Lee was particularly active this year and is a cause of great concern. The weather conditions contributed much to the worsening of the situation.
I am having the problem monitored and I have asked that a comprehensive report be prepared as soon as all the facts for the 1989 season are available.
