Vol. 392 No. 10

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No.8.

Is the Taoiseach aware of reports that discussions have taken place between Iarnród Éireann and the Provisional IRA in relation to incidents on the Belfast to Dublin railway line, if he will investigate those reports, find out what is going on and inform the House.

I certainly will. No, I am not aware of anything like that.

I should like to ask the Taoiseach if he intends to give time to the House or if he intends to convey to the East German Republic our congratulations on their decision to take down the Berlin Wall and to offer their citizens freedom of movement. Some kind of message of support can be conveyed from the Government in some shape or form.

The Chair has allowed some licence this morning.

Would the Taoiseach and the Government resign in sympathy?

Does the Taoiseach propose to allow time for such a short statement?

The Deputy knows how to proceed with such matters.

The Taoiseach has no intention of being disorderly.
