During the past year liaison between the Department of Health and my Department was formalised and regular consultations took place. The two Departments worked together on the development of education resource material on AIDS. Both Departments co-operated with the Irish Cancer Society on various educational activities in the context of the European Year Against Cancer. Seminars were held for teachers, copies of the European Code against Cancer were distributed to teachers and education material on cancer was developed.
These activities are ongoing and it is hoped to continue and develop this liaison between the two Departments.
