Vol. 393 No. 1

Written Answers. - Naas (Kildare) Fire Station.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to proposals from Kildare County Council for the provision of a new fire station at Naas, County Kildare; to the urgent need for such facilities having regard to the demands of the area; if he intends to make financial provision for same in the context of the 1990 Estimates; when the project will proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of providing a new fire station in Naas is a matter in the first instance for the fire authority, Kildare County Council. Since no proposals in the matter have been submitted to my Department, the question of making capital provision available does not arise. I understand, however, that Kildare County Council is considering such a proposal.
