Vol. 393 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hearing-Impaired Children.

40.

asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide special units attached to any of the primary schools in Dublin or elsewhere in the country, similar to that set up in Bishopstown, Cork, to cater for hearing-impaired children in order to encourage and speed up the process of their integration into the schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

This will be a matter to be considered by a review group which I will establish shortly to make recommendations on future policy using as a basis the 1972 Report on the Education of Children who are Handicapped by Impaired Hearing.
