asked the Minister for Education the plans or proposals she has for the provision of an adult education centre for Tallaght, Dublin 24; whether there is an urgent necessity for such a facility in Tallaght; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As indicated by me in reply to a similar parliamentary question on 18 July last, the County Dublin VEC have the responsibility for providing adult education in Tallaght.
A wide range of adult education courses are at present being provided in a number of community colleges and community schools in Tallaght or in the adjacent area. Also a new community college is being built in Jobstown, Tallaght, and a new regional technical college is being built in the area. Catering for adults will be an important part of the briefs of these colleges.
I assure the Deputy that I will continue to keep the need of adult education in the Tallaght area under review.
