Vol. 393 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Donegal Beach Obstruction.

79.

asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the situation which has arisen at Inver Beach, County Donegal, whereby wire fencing has been erected at right angles to the shoreline, leading from the sand dunes down the beach and into the sea below the watermark, thus preventing right of way and posing a danger to small craft and swimmers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received complaints in relation to the matter raised by the Deputy. These are being investigated with a view to ascertaining whether there have been any breaches of the terms of the Foreshore Act, 1933, and whether remedies are available.
