I propose to take Questions Nos. 125 and 142 together.
Straight comparisons of rate support grant allocations from one year to another are not valid because of adjustments made in respect of, for example, the Local Loans Fund (Amendment) Act, 1987, removal of local authorities financial responsibility for supplementary welfare allowances, ACOT, OPW arterial drainage maintenance etc., ESB rates and, for 1990, the effect of the 1988 Tenant Purchase Scheme. Up to date information on the rate support grant allocation for 1990 is set out in a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report. Details of the allocations for 1989 are contained in Question No. 201 of 14 November 1989.
