Vol. 393 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dublin Road Works.

148.

asked the Minister for the Environment when funds will be made available to Dublin County Council to complete a section of the new Knocklyon road at the junction with Scholarstown Road; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals for works at this location have not been received in my Department from Dublin County Council.

As the road in question does not form part of the network of national roads, the cost of such works would, in accordance with normal practice, fall to be financed by the local authority from its own resources. The local authority may, at its discretion, use the discretionary grants paid annually by the Department to supplement expenditure from its own resources on such roads.
