Where a medical card patient is recommended by his general practitioner for treatment with Engerix B Vaccine, the director of community care/medical officer of health will if the circumstances so warrant it, supply the vaccine free of charge.
I have been informed by the Eastern Health Board that in the particular case referred to by the Deputy no such recommendation has been received from the general practitioner.
