Students following the new programme will follow the Leaving Certificate programme in at least five subjects to include:
(a) Irish;
(b) two subjects from Construction Studies, Engineering, and Technical Drawing;
(c) a modern continental language (French, German, Italian, Spanish) (the terms of C.L. M 41/89 may be applied);
(d) at least one other subject from the approved list.
The Deputy will note that Home Economics is not a compulsory subject for participants in the new programme. It would, however, be open to participants who wished to do so to select Home Economics under indent (d) above.
