I am aware of the development in an area of scientific importance based on geological/palaeontological criteria at Ballybetagh, County Dublin, and encompassing the Galtrim moraine in County Meath.
Such sites are not protected under the Wildife Act, 1976. I am however considering an amendment to the Act which will extend its protection to such sites.
