Vol. 393 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowances.

79.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will grant a tax free allowance to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the person concerned returned all details required to the Inspector of Taxes some time ago.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a certificate of tax free allowances is being issued to the taxpayer this week.

The issue of the certificate was delayed because the inspector of taxes was awaiting information he requested in his letter of 10 October 1989. This information has now been obtained.

Any tax overdeducted from the taxpayer's earnings since commencement of employment is refundable to her by her present employer on operation of that certificate.
