Vol. 393 No. 8

Written Answers. - Kerry River.

84.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will provide a special allocation to carry out dredging of the Cashen River, County Kerry as the surrounding lands are threatened with flooding.

Major drainage works on the Cashen River, County Kerry, are not required at present. Any works necessary to maintain the drainage outfall for the surrounding lands, provided by the Feale catchment drainage scheme some years ago, can be met from the annual provision for arterial drainage maintenance in the Vote for the Office of Public Works. Accordingly, the question of providing a special allocation does not arise.
