An operational programme for roads and other transport is being prepared in accordance with the community support framework recently adopted by the EC Commission. A draft of the programme will be submitted shortly to the Commission. Pending completion of the programme, it is not proposed to indicate the major schemes to be undertaken in the period up to 1993.

The project referred to by Deputy O'Leary is currently at the preliminary design stage. The cost is tentatively estimated at £5 million (1989 prices).
