Vol. 394 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

177.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will re-investigate the house improvement grant claim of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the application was sent to his Department one week before the official closing date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application was received from this person but not in sufficient time to allow an inspection to be carried out before 27 March 1987. He cannot, therefore, be allowed a grant.

178.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named at the address given.

179.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person who owned a house in Northern Ireland previously, and who is now a first-time purchaser of a new house in this jurisdiction, is entitled to a new house grant where the house purchased would normally qualify for a grant.

Such a person is not eligible for the £2,000 first time purchaser's grant.
