It would be contrary to long-established practice and, I am satisfied, inappropriate for me as Minister for Justice to deal at Question Time with individual petitions for the remission or mitigation of penalties.
The petition lodged by the person concerned on 6 December 1989 will be processed in the normal way. I will inform the Deputy of my decision in due course.
