As far as entry to further education and training is concerned, there will be no difference between the recognition accorded to students who pursue the general leaving certificate programme and those who follow the leaving certificate vocational programme. The difference between the two programmes lies in the fact that in the latter programme schools are encouraged to undertake project work which has a stronger technological orientation. However, the methods of assessment for this work will be the same as those which apply to students taking these subjects in the general leaving certificate programme.
