Ceist:74 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the delay in the new Patent Bill is aimed at giving an advantage to some indigenous industries; and when patent legislation will be introduced.

The delay in bringing this Bill forward is due solely to the complexity of the subject matter. I can assure the Deputy, however, that considerable progress has been made in the drafting of the Bill and I hope to be in a position to submit a final text in the near future for the approval of the Government and thereafter to introduce it in the Dáil.
