Vol. 395 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Funding.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

83 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if sufficient funding is made available to St. Mary's School for Deaf Children, Cabra, Dublin 7, to ensure that assistant house parents and house mothers are paid their proper salary scale; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The 1990 allocation to the Eastern Health Board includes a provision to meet the approved expenditure of St. Mary's School for Deaf Children. In agreeing the appropriate budget with the school the board will take account of the school's intention to bring salary scales up to the levels approved by my Department, with appropriate adjustments for hours worked and school holidays.
