Vol. 395 No. 3

Written Answers. - Conductive Education.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

167 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will make funds available to have a teacher of conductive education available in the Cork area.

It is a matter for the local health board to provide the range of services needed by physically handicapped persons in its area. Health boards do this directly or by giving financial grants to voluntary organisations to do so on their behalf. A decision as to whether to provide funds for any particular service is for the health board in question to make, in consultation with the service provider, having regard to their assessment of the priority need for the various services.
