Ceist:64 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Defence if he will report on the outstanding increases, if any, due to the Defence Forces arising from the December 1988 inter-departmental committee on pay and allowances.
Written Answers. - Defence Forces' Remuneration Increases.
Payment of the increases in basic pay approved by the Government following the report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Defence Forces Pay, Allowances and Conditions is being phased in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Pay Agreement and the Programme for National Recovery; 40 per cent of the increases was paid on 1 July 1989. The balance will be payable as follows: 30 per cent on 1 April 1990, 30 per cent on 1 October 1990.
All increases in allowances have been fully implemented.
