Ceist:84 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 30 June 1989 and submitted a claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment to the inspector of taxes on 5 July 1989. His claim was dealt with on 23 August 1989 and a cheque for £212.36 was issued to him on 31 August, 1989. An application form to enable him claim a further repayment after four weeks was issued to him on 23 August 1989. The inspector of taxes has not received any further claim from the taxpayer.
