Vol. 395 No. 3

Written Answers. - Christmas Bonus.

Jim Mitchell

Ceist:

120 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Labour the present position in relation to the payment of a Christmas bonus to persons who were on long-term unemployment assistance but who, shortly before Christmas, took up FÁS courses; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A Christmas bonus was payable, during the week ending 8 December 1989, to eligible people based on their record of long-term unemployment assistance, who were either on the live register, or on a FÁS training course.

If the Deputy is aware of a case of non-payment of the bonus, I am sure that FÁS or the Department of Social Welfare would immediately investigate the case.
